Message From

Rivertown Bluegrass Society Inc.

This message is from the Rivertown Bluegrass Society of Conway SC. I would like to thank everyone that has attended RBS through the years. We have made a lot of friends not just across the U.S. but across much of the world. This is a very difficult decision but there is a lot of work that goes on each month to make these concerts happen and all the past and present board members have worked very hard to make them the best they could be. The one question that keeps coming up is where are the local Musicians/Bands? Without the musicians there jamming, a bluegrass concert is not what it should be. Another issue RBS is a non-profit organization and ran by group of board members. This has never been a problem until now. Several of the board members want to get of the board and let someone else take their place. These positions should be filled by musicians however the musicians are not showing up to participate in anything. RBS has been in business 23 years and 6 months bringing some of the best local, regional, and professional musicians and bands in the bluegrass business right here to Horry County. However due to the lack of participation from local bands, musicians and local attendees RBS will not continue holding any concerts after December, 14th 2019. If you are a member of RBS and you have questions and would like to speak to someone you may give me a call Mickey Sellers 843-254-0505
