The 1240 AM WLSC radio station, has been serving the community of Loris for nearly 50 years. WLSC signed on in 1958, originally located at 1570 AM, then in the 80`s was moved to 1240 AM. For a short period it was under the call letters WVSL. The station has had many owners over its 50 year history but was recently purchased buy the one and only Banana Jack Murphy. Most will remember him from his morning show on 101.7 WKZQ and 104.1 WYAV. Jack has been voted best radio personality, best morning show, radio DJ of the year, and has been honored by the South Carolina’s Broadcasters Association. He has had TV shows like Myrtle Beach Daze and still hosts River Talk on WWMB TV 21. Since his purchase of the  WLSC station Jack has been incorporating Bluegrass into the daily line up and has other plans coming up to help promote Bluegrass music in this area.

 Starting with Saturday April 5th, 10:00am till Noon - Bluegrass On The Corner debuts as part of WLSC`s grand opening celebration. It will feature live broadcasts of The Morris Brothers and other guests. [more info: Jack Murphy 222-4652]
